Since we are a private lake and we stock our lake with rainbow trout, NO LICENSE is required. There are also blue gill, bass and catfish in the lake. Please use one pole per angler and you may keep 4 fish per day per angler if you plan to eat them. If you don’t, we ask that you catch and release.

Pets are welcome! There is a $20 (plus tax) fee per pet per visit. We will ask you to sign our pet policy (a copy is available online) and register your pet(s) when you check in. We hope everyone will abide by some simple rules we have put in place in an effort to show mutual respect for each other and the property. IF YOU ARE BRINGING A CAT PLEASE LET US KNOW UPON RESERVATION.
5Firewood:
We are no longer able to provide free firewood but you are welcome to bring your own for the fireplaces. We have arranged for a vendor to sell bags of wood in the office for your convenience or wood can be purchased from local stores such as Circle K, Safeway and Wal-Mart. Please do not have a fire going in your fireplace unless you are inside the cabin – and do not start a fire the morning you are departing. If you leave a fire going when you check out, we reserve the right to charge you an additional fee.
6Boat Rentals:
Row boats are available from approximately May1 through October 31 – weather permitting. For the safety of our guests, our insurance company reserves the right to determine when the boats are put in and taken out each year – and to deny use of the boats on days when weather conditions make it dangerous to be out on the lake. Boats rentals are available for an hourly rate of $10.00 first hour $5.00 each additional hour for row boats and $15 per hour for the peddle boat. Boats rentals are between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5 PM ***Due to new insurance regulations, we can no longer allow personal watercraft on the lake. Only Lake of the Woods craft can be allowed.***
7Accommodations:
All our cabins have kitchens/kitchenettes (small refrigerators) and wood-burning fireplaces (except the Cedars which has a gas fireplace). Since we are no longer able to provide free wood you may purchase wood locally or feel free to bring it with you.
8Grills:
Each cabin has its own grill (either charcoal or gas). Charcoal fires are allowed in the grills unless we are under a red flag warning. If there is a weather advisory, we will post red flags around the property – or you may check with the office to make sure you can use charcoal. During “red flag” days, gas grills may be used, but you must attend the fire at all times. For cabins with charcoal grills, we have placed several gas grills in the common area if you wish to BBQ. These grills are to be shared by all cabins so we ask you to leave them in the common area and not bring them to your cabin. NOTE: Wood burning outside the cabin is NOT permitted within city limits. Therefore, please do not try and burn logs in our grills.
9Amenities:
We have a playground for children under age 12; a pool table in the rec room by the shores; 2 ping pong tables in rec room by the office; shuffleboard court; horseshoe pit.

Skiing is available at Sunrise Park Ski Resort each winter and we are located approximately 35 minutes west of the resort.

We have taken the time to prepare booklets for each cabin outlining our policies, explaining our amenities, and giving general information about Lake of the Woods. We ask all guests to review the books when they arrive. These policies and explanations are meant to help everyone have a safe, wonderful experience at our resort.

Pet Policies:

Lake of the Woods welcomes your whole family to our resort. This includes the furry members of your family as well. As with any business, we do have some guidelines, which we ask that our resort guests follow regarding their pets. These guidelines are meant to provide all our guests a safe and pleasant experience at our resort.

  1. WHEN OUTSIDE YOUR CABIN, YOUR PET MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES and please make sure who ever is walking the dog can control the dog. (Please do not have a 50 lb child walking a 70 lb dog.) As owners, it is our responsibility to ensure the safety of our guests. As a pet owner, you may be held personally liable for any incident involving your pet. We all like to think our pets will always act the way they do at home, but in different surroundings and among different people, they may act in unpredictable ways.
  2. Please clean up after your pet. We wish to provide our guests a clean environment in which to walk, fish and play. Please keep your pets off the main grass area and especially the playground area.
  3. Please clean up after your pet in your cabin. Vacuums are available upon request. Many animals shed, and we realize that this is a normal function of many breeds. We ask that you please clean up any excessive hair left by your pet, as our cleaning personnel spend countless hours on this alone. If your pet leaves excessive hair in your cabin, we will charge a cleaning fee of $25.00 to recoup the cost of our additional labor. If your pet causes damage to your cabin we will provide you with an additional invoice to cover such damage.
  4. We would appreciate your keeping pets off the beds and furniture. Please bring an old sheet or blanket for pets to lay on if they are used to being on your furniture at home.
  5. Please have a great time at our resort. These guidelines are by no means meant to upset our guests. We love providing a wonderful FAMILY experience for all our guests.
  6. IF YOU ARE BRINGING A CAT PLEASE LET US KNOW UPON RESERVATION.
