This beautiful area in the White Mountains provides a wide variety of activities to suit just about everyone. For those who just want to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, Lake of the Woods also provides this.
June 2011 Fishing
We also own another cabin resort in Lakeside called Lazy Oaks. It is situated on Rainbow Lake about 1 ½ miles from Lake of the Woods. It is a quiet location off Route 260 and this beautiful property has 15 one- and two-bedroom cabins overlooking Rainbow Lake. A fishing license is required at Rainbow Lake.
If your goal is to stay at a cabin resort on a lake, we hope you will consider either Lake of the Woods or Lazy Oaks.
Members of our family - Sean Preiss, Melody and Erik Boro – join us in our efforts to move into the future with both Lake of the Woods and Lazy Oaks. We all look forward to having you join us and will do our best to make your stay an enjoyable one.
Sincerely,
Janet Pierson, Skip and Peggy Preiss
* NOTE: If you have visitors while at Lake of the Woods, please be aware that only guests staying with us are allowed to fish. Please have any day guest register with the office before proceeding to your cabin. Thanks!
We welcome you to Lake of the Woods. Our 25-acre resort includes our own private lake so no fishing license is required (please see below)*. We have 33 cabins and houses which accommodate from 1 to 20 people. We stock our lake with rainbow trout which provides for great fishing - and during the spring and summer we have row boats available for rent. Our other amenities are directed toward young and old alike: we have recreation rooms with ping pong and pool tables; shuffleboard courts; horseshoes; a playground for children 12 and under; 2 Jacuzzis and a sauna. There are hiking trails, horseback riding (seasonal), a fun park, restaurants, movie theaters, antique and grocery stores all close by. During the winter, ski enthusiasts are only 35 minutes from Sunrise Park Ski Resort.
For those of you who might be considering your first stay, we hope that you will find our resort as wonderful as we did the first time we visited. It is our goal to have you join the guests who return year after year to experience this wonderful retreat.
We are a resort for the whole family: whether your “family” consists of a small number of people or a whole group. Your pets are welcome to join us – although we hope everyone will abide by some simple rules we have put in place in an effort to show mutual respect for each other and the property. There is a nominal charge of $10 fee per pet per stay and we will ask you to sign our pet policy and register your pet(s) upon check-in.
